We have felt their sting, seen their stares, suffered through their indignation. Judgmental Christians have done more harm to the cause of Christ than atheists or secular society. Why? Because claiming to represent Christ, they MIS-represent Him. Instead of helping the lost to find their way to God, the judgmental stand in the way, blocking the way with arms crossed and a disapproving glare.

We want grace and yet, ironically, we withhold grace from others. We are slow to forgive. We treat fallen people unkindly, and mostly we view returning prodigals with skepticism. This is NOTHING like the heart or character of God. Once a prodigal turns to come home, and even while a long way away, God runs to us to welcome us fully as sons and daughters.
